Even though my husband's name is Will.
But I ain't makin no cuckold. My boy on the side is Craigslist. I could troll the boards for hours, ruminating on the possibilities of the "For Sale" sections. It's like a virtual garage sale from heaven. Right now I'm in the market for 30" stainless oven and hooded microwave, but that doesn't mean I don't take the time to check out listings for art, furniture, and all things craiggy.
How great would these chairs be with a little white paint and some new fabric for the seats?

And this desk could easily be pimped out with a change of paper.

I have bought/sold all of the following on CL:
- sold a weight training machine that i never used (actually, I gave this away for free to an NYC fireman) If you really want to unload something on CL, put it in the FREE section!
- bought a blue/white striped chair with an ottoman.

- bought an ikea bedframe for our old apartment, which is now my nieces.
- sold 2 IKEA pello chairs to a girl who came to our apartment and actually had to come back when the chairs didn't fit!
- found our first apartment
- sold a bag of clothes when I lost 30 pounds
- sold a tv stand to a rabbi
My tips for buying/selling on CL:
- price to SELL. if your prices are too high, no one is answering you. if you really want something gone, put it up for free. there is usually SOMEONE who will take it, no matter what it is. This is especially a good idea when you have a bulky item that you need out of your house.
- don't have someone come to your house/you go to someone's house alone. Safety in numbers, right? I would never go to a strange house by myself, or by the same token, have someone come to MY home.
I love CL stories. What did Craig find for you?
